FAQ

Contrast Therapy FAQs

Q: Should I use the sauna or ice bath first?

A: Most experts agree that the safest and most effective method is the sauna first and then the ice bath. You can alternate between the two throughout the session, but remember to start with the sauna.

Q: How long should I use the sauna and ice bath?

A: This will depend on your experience. For beginners, we recommend starting with 10-15 minutes in the sauna, followed by 1-3 minutes in the ice bath, continuing to alternate between the two throughout the session. You can gradually increase these times as you become more experienced.

We have included a full session guide in our eBook here.

Q: How often should I practice Contrast Therapy?

A: The optimal frequency varies depending on individual goals and responses to the therapy. It's recommended that beginners start with 1-2 sessions per week and gradually increase as their bodies adapt. Remember to listen to your body and adjust accordingly.

Q: Should I practice breathwork during my session?

Specific breathwork exercises like the Wim Hof method are a fantastic addition to any wellness routine. However, it’s important to practice this separately from your time in a sauna or ice bath (although before and after is fine). During your time in the sauna and ice bath, simply focus on slow, deep and controlled breathing.
